What is the process of PRP injection?
PRP is a medical treatment in which your own blood is processed in the special device that separates blood plasma from the rest of the blood and injected to the needed areas. First of all, the blood is drawn from the vein and processed in the centrifuge. The later device separates the fluids of different densities: platelet-poor plasma, platelet-rich plasma and red blood cells. The platelet-rıch plasma is injected into the face, scalp or other areas if needed. Depending on the zones of the application doctor can choose a different technique. For the scalp area the local anesthesia can be used in oder to reduce the sensitiveness of the zone. The procedure takes around an hour.
How many and how long PRP sessions are needed?
The frequency and the number of the PRP treatments depends on the area and on the patient individually. The results can be seen after 2-8 treatments. It is recommended to repeat the treatment every 2 weeks for the face area and every 3-5 weeks for the hair. The hair loss treatment may need more sessions. PRP can also be combined with the other treatments.
